The Challenge

I was charged with creating a master plan for my district. The question has always been:

• How do I assess that?
• How can I demonstrate technical literacy in students?
• How can I demonstrate proficiency?

I had no way to assess or even estimate such information.

The Solution

I had my team give the EdTechProfile surveys to:

• Teachers
• Students

We tracked their technology literacy which indirectly showed:

• How well educators were trained
• How well educators passed on their knowledge to the students

I used EdTechProfile to:

• Administer the surveys, forms and assessment modules
• Collect and manage the survey data
• Execute numerous aggregated reports based on my needs

The Outcomes

Our reports showed:

• 99% of graduating seniors could use Microsoft Word
• 85% were proficient in spreadsheets (a 3% increase)
• 95% were able to conduct Internet searches and information retrievals (a 2% increase)
